Behind the Stitches: How LINFAIR Crafts Premium Knitwear from Yarn to Finished Garment
Take a behind-the-scenes look at the complete journey of a LINFAIR sweater — from raw fiber selection to the final quality inspection before it reaches your doorstep.
Every LINFAIR sweater begins its journey long before it arrives at your door. As a knitwear manufacturer based in Dalang, China — the heart of the country's wool textile industry — we take pride in every step of the production process. Here is an inside look at how we turn raw materials into garments you will love for years.
Step 1: Fiber Selection
It all starts with the yarn. We source premium fibers from trusted suppliers — lamb cashmere from Inner Mongolia, fine merino wool from Australia, and high-quality synthetic blends for durability. Each fiber is tested for softness, strength, and consistency before it enters our production line.
Step 2: Yarn Spinning
The selected fibers are spun into yarn using advanced ring-spinning technology. The spinning process determines the yarn's thickness, texture, and strength. For our cashmere blend sweaters, we use a fine-gauge yarn that produces a smooth, soft fabric with excellent drape.
Step 3: Knitting
Our state-of-the-art computerized knitting machines transform yarn into fabric panels. Each garment is knitted to shape — a process called “fully fashioned knitting” — which minimizes waste and ensures a better fit. Depending on the design, we use different stitch patterns: jersey stitch for smooth surfaces, rib stitch for stretch and texture, and cable stitch for decorative patterns.
Step 4: Linking and Assembly
The knitted panels are linked together using a specialized linking machine that precisely joins each stitch row by row. This creates seamless-looking seams that are comfortable against the skin. The collar, cuffs, and hem are attached with equal care.
Step 5: Washing and Finishing
The assembled garment goes through a controlled washing process that relaxes the fibers, giving the sweater its characteristic softness and drape. This step also pre-shrinks the fabric so your sweater maintains its size after washing.
Step 6: Quality Inspection
Every single LINFAIR sweater undergoes a thorough quality inspection before packaging. We check for consistency in stitch density, color accuracy, fabric weight, and overall construction. Any garment that does not meet our standards is remade — never shipped.
Step 7: Packaging and Shipping
Approved garments are carefully folded, wrapped in tissue paper, and placed in protective packaging. For our Amazon customers, the sweater is then shipped to Amazon's fulfillment centers, where it awaits your order.
This meticulous process — from fiber to finished garment — is what sets LINFAIR apart. We believe that quality is not a feature, it is a standard.
